THIS SHOW IS SANCTIONED BY THE AMERICAN DAIRY GOAT ASSOCIATION AND THEIR RULES SHALL GOVERN.

Notice:  Any person interfering with the ADGA judge or show committee and/or disrupting the show will be dismissed from the show ring or grounds and can be denied show privileges in the future.

ENTRIES:                Send entries to Linda Johnson, 1781 Riverside Dr., Laramie, WY 82070.  Entries must be postmarked no later than May 16th, 2009, or a late fee will be charged.

                                ENTRY FEE:                        $6.00 per animal / $11.00 late fee

                                DAIRY HERD CLASSES:      $1.00 per group / $2.00 late fee

                                MILKING COMPETITION:      $6.00 per doe

                                JACKPOT SHOWMANSHIP: $4.00 PER ENTRY (Jr., Int., Sr.) no charge for Pee Wee

SHOWMANSHIP:   Pee Wee – 3-7 years of age, Junior – 8-10, Intermediate – 11-13, Senior – 14-19, as of Jan. 1st of current year.

                              Showmanship competition will begin promptly at 7:30AM on Sunday.

BUCK SHOW:        Begins promptly at 7:30PM on Saturday.

SENIOR DOE SHOW:  Begins 8:00AM on Saturday and after Showmanship on Sunday.

JUNIOR DOE SHOW:  Begins at 7:30 PM on Friday and follows the Senior doe show on Sunday.

REGISTRATION AND RECORDATION CERTIFICATES:

1.  Only goats registered with ADGA, AGS, or CGS are eligible to compete.  Those goats who have applied for registration with the above organizations may also compete.

2.  A registration/recordation certificate or the stamped duplicate showing the date received by ADGA office is required for any animal under 6 months of age.

3.  A registration/recordation certificate is required for any goat 6 months of age or older.

4.  No copies of the registration/recordation certificate or the stamped duplicate shall be accepted by show officials.

5.  The document specified above as the requirement of the animal of that age to be shown must have been presented to the show secretary before judging begins.

6.  Proof of ownership shall be the name on the registration/recordation certificate or the stamped duplicate.

7.  Information obtained from the ADGA office via telephone, telegram, etc. shall not be accepted in lieu of the document specified above.

 

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:  Wyoming law requires all out of state goats be accompanied by a valid health certificate.  Health certificates will be examined at time of check in.  Diseased or injured animals will be removed from the grounds upon recommendation of the show committee.  Animals deemed unworthy of competition by the show committee may be barred from competition and removed from the grounds.  In such cased, pen and entry fees submitted by owner will be forfeited.  Scrapies ID recommended.  Out of state exhibitors may be required to secure a Wyoming Brand Inspection prior to leaving the state.

All goats must be dehorned or naturally polled.

Milk out at your own discretion.

Over-uddered does will be discriminated against.

CHAMPION CHALLENGE:  Permanent Champions may show in either the regular or Challenge class, whichever the owner chooses.  The Grand Champion of the same show must show in the class, and the winner of it shall be called the “Best of Breed.”  If the Grand Champion of the day does not win this class, she will not compete in the “Best in Show” class, the winner of the challenge class will compete.  Permanent champions shown in these classes are not barred from competition in group or udder classes.  Proof of Championship shall be the prefix “CH or GCH” as affixed by ADGA to the animal’s registration/recordation.  AN ANIMAL WINNING GRAND CHAMPION IN SHOWS WITHOUT CHAMPION CHALLENGE OR BEST OF BREED, WHERE CHAMPION CHALLENGE IS CONTESTED, WILL FORFEIT THE CHAMPIONSHIP LEG EARNED IN THAT SHOW IF THEY FAIL TO COMPETE IN THE BEST OF SHOW CLASS.

CLIPPING:  THE ONLY CLIPPING ALLOWED WILL BE A DAIRY CLIP.  You MAY clip the udder, the tail and around the tail, and down the back leg.  NO clipping of any other part of the body except for ears and face for those goats participating in the showmanship competition.  ABSOLUTELY NO clipping of the chest, body, back, neck, or legs.

CLASSES:  The base date for these shows is May 26th, 2009.  All animals shown in group classes MUST have been shown in their regular or champion challenge classes.

BREED CODES:  A(Alpine), L(LaMancha), N(Nubian), O(Oberhasli), S(Saanen), T(Toggenburg), D(Nigerian Dwarf), C(Sable), AOP(All Other Purebreds), RG(Recorded Grade).

SENIOR DIVISION:  All does shown in this division must have freshened at least once or are being regularly milked as in the case of a precocious doe being milked daily.  Classes 8 - 13.

JUNIOR DIVISION:  This division is comprised of doelings under 24 months of age that have never freshened.  Classes 15 - 18.

GROUP CLASSES:  Dairy Herd, by breed – Four does all owned by the same exhibitor from the Sr. Division.  Class 14.

DOGS:  Dogs are not allowed in the penning area.  This includes both barns.

FEED AND BEDDING:  Will be available for purchase at a reasonable price.

CAMPING:  Camping will be allowed on the grounds.  Showers and restrooms are available.  No Camper hookups will be allowed.

MILKING COMPETITION:  ADGA sanctioned Milking Competition is for owners who would like to earn a *M status for their does.  The completion will be held on Friday and Saturday.  The preliminary milk out will be held Friday at 6:30PM (this weight does not count but is just to verify that the doe is starting out with an empty udder) with the two weighed milkings at 6:30 AM and 6:30PM on Saturday.  The cost for the lab fee is paid for by Meadowlark Testing Association.  There will be a one hour time frame for completion of the test.  Tattoos and paperwork will be completed Friday night prior to the Preliminary milk out.  Holding pens for participants with more than one entry may be provided.  Participants must provide: milk stand, bucket, registration papers, container if milk is to be saved, and enough milk hands and stands to accomplish the test in one hour.  If this completion is to be used for a Verification Test for DHIR, the owner must have the VT paperwork filled out also.  M Comp on entry form.

ARRIVAL TIMES:  Pens will be available on Friday at 1:00PM.  Call Karen Butler (307) 649-2216, if you need special accommodations.  Check in time will be from 3 – 9 PM on Friday.  All goats must be in place by 6:00PM for the Friday show, and by 7:00AM for the Saturday show.  For those exhibiting on Sunday only – goats must be in place by 9:00PM on Saturday.

SATURDAY DINNER:  Compliments of the Wyoming Dairy Goat Association.  Sign up on the bottom of the entry form.  Friday evening Supper and Sunday Lunch will be available on grounds.

When Filling out the entry form, please make sure to include the breed code in the column with the class.

Showmanship classes will be judged in rings A and B simultaneously.  Ring will be assigned after check in.

Judy Quagliana will be judging in ring A, Friday Junior Doe, Saturday Senior Doe, and Buck show.

Tecoa Seibert will be judging in ring B, Friday Junior Doe and  Saturday Senior Doe.

Daniel Considine will be judging Saturday ring C Buck show, Sunday ring A showmanship, Senior and Junior Doe shows.

Don Bergfield will be judging Saturday Ring B Buck show, Sunday ring B showmanship Senior and Junior Doe Shows.
